Have You Signed Up for H.A.I.L.?

A new electronic Global Mission Newsletter titled H.A.I.L. - Here Am I, Lord!” has been launched.  This newsletter takes place of the mission newsletter, “Whom Shall I Send?” that was absent for a while.  According to the Rev. Phil Harrington, chair of Conference Global Action Team, "Hail" was a common greeting in the time of the Gospels.  With this word, Gabriel greeted Mary with startling news to which she responded, "Here am I."  Yet "Hail" meant more than "hello."  The greeting retained the connotation of the word's original meaning, "rejoice."  When a messenger brings news of what God intends to do in and through us it is indeed a cause for rejoicing -- even when that news is daunting.  What you find in this newsletter will be "good news", a report of the "gospel" work of our conference in the world.

You can subscribe to it and any other conference email newsletters by entering your email address in the sign-up section of the conference website home page (www.pnwumc.org).  Past issues are posted on the mission page of the conference website (www.pnwumc.org/missions).  Contact Noriko Lao (norikolao@cs.com) for questions or stop by her table at the Ministry Fair.
